Help with the fields
Kodava Word/Sentence (English script) — Write the Kodava takk text using English/Latin letters. This is called transliteration — writing Kodava words phonetically in English. For example, "hoLe" for river, "Ninga daaDa?" for "Whose are you?".
Kannada Script — The same Kodava takk text written in Kannada script (ಕನ್ನಡ). This field auto-syncs with the Kodava field — type in either one and the other updates automatically.
Proficiency — Your self-assessed level of Kodava takk knowledge. Expert: native speaker or linguistic researcher. Intermediate: conversational speaker or heritage learner. Beginner: learning the language or non-speaker with some knowledge. Expert contributions are prioritized during review.
Notes vs Additional Context — Notes are for dialect variations or brief usage remarks. Additional Context is for deeper information like literal meaning, cultural significance, or idiomatic usage that helps the translator understand nuances.
